Who are you?

We are an online retailer of completely personalized jewelry. Every Designs by M item is made to order right here in the United States. Each piece can be personalized by selecting your metal, number of stones, birthstones and engraving to exactly match your desires.

Where are you located?

Designs by M is located in the continental United States. 

Do you have any stores I can visit?

No, we are solely an online retailer. Since all of our jewelry is made to order we don’t need to carry any inventory.

Do you have a Wishlist on your site?

Yes. Designs by M offers a wishlist function with your account so you can easily save and share your personalized design! Your wishlist can be accessed by clicking the My Account Page and signing in to your account.

Can I share my customized piece preview and configuration via email or social media?

Yes. On the top right hand side of the product page there is a share function. You can easily click this to share via email or social media. You can also share a saved product from your wishlist via email- the perfect way to hint to your loved one about a gift.

What is Family Jewelry?

Family jewelry can be a ring, necklace or bracelet that is set with the birthstones or engravings of each family member.

Shipping

How long before my item is shipped?

The creation of your personalized design takes 5-7 business days. As soon as your item is complete, we ship it via FREE Ground or your selected upgraded shipping method.

How much is shipping?

We offer free standard shipping to everywhere in the United States. You can expedite your shipment for an additional charge. To see all rates visit our Shipping Page.

How long does delivery take?

Standard delivery is 3-5 business days. It may take more time if the package is traveling to Hawaii, Alaska and remote locations.

Can I get expedited shipping?

Yes. You can get 2day Shipping or Overnight Shipping for an additional charge. When you place your order you can choose your shipping method. It will tell you the estimated cost to ship your package faster.

Do you ship to every state?

Yes. We ship to every state in the United States including Hawaii and Alaska.

Do you ship to countries besides the US?

At the moment we do not offer international shipping.

Packaging

How is my piece packaged?

Each piece is individually packaged in a sleek jewelery box.  The box is then securely placed inside a shipping box and shipped to you!

Do you offer resizing?

Yes. We offer free resizing within for a reasonable fee. Please contact info@designsbym.com to receive resizing information and instructions.

Ordering

Will my jewelry look exactly like the preview on the site?

The actual presentation might appear slightly different from the preview. Our experts will ensure the proper size and placements of your design.  Most genuine gemstones pictured have been subject to an enhancement process or treatment (e.g. heating, oiling, diffusion, waxing, etc.), which may not be permanent and may require special care.  Generally, most treated gemstone jewelry should only be gently cleaned by rinsing in warm water and dried with a soft cloth.

Are special symbols of characters permitted in an engraving?

Yes. Any letter, number or character that you find on a standard keyboard can be engraved except for the percent sign (%).

Gemstones

What is a birthstone?

Birthstones are gemstones that are associated with the twelve months of the year and are available in either genuine or simulated. Your birthstone is the stone associated with the month of your birth.          

What is the difference between simulated and genuine?

Genuine gemstones are rare and mined directly from the earth. No two gemstones are alike and their rarity causes them to be more valuable. Simulated gemstones are created in laboratories and emulate the characteristics of genuine gemstones.

Metals

What is the difference between 10k and 14k gold?

Gold is typically mixed with other metals in order to produce jewelry.  The term “karat” defines the amount of gold that is found in a piece of jewelry. 14 karats (14k) indicates that 14 out of 24 parts are gold while 10 karats (10k) indicates that 10 parts out of 24 are gold.

What is sterling silver?

A silver item that contains at least 92.5 % silver can be referred to as sterling silver.

What are my different metal options?

Each piece has the option to come in 10k and 14k yellow, white and rose gold. Select pieces are also available in sterling silver.
